I got my boyfriend a Playstation 5 for his birthday, partially so he could get some better load times and frame rates in ffxiv than he does on his PS4. But apparently the first time he logged in, the menus took forever to load. I just had him try it again to see if it was maybe a server issue, and it was a lot better- but he's still disconnecting. He described it as being "odd lag spikes at specific times." At this point, it's still not playable. I was hoping that this console would be an opportunity for him to have a better experience with this game, but at this point, it doesn't seem realistic. Maybe they're going to come out with patches to better suit the game for the PS5? I don't really think its a router issue, because we've never had trouble with anything like this before :/
