Hello! This is an issue I've been having for quite a long time now, since all the way back in March actually. For some reason, when I have FFXIV capped at 180 fps (my monitors refresh rate), it feels like my mouse is on ice, it's sort of hard to describe, and I can't capture the feeling on video, but it just feels... sluggish I guess? The strange thing is after dawntrail released, this issue went away entirely, but then for seemingly no reason it returned last week, except this time it was WAY worse than before. I could not for the life of me find anyone else having this issue, it's only me, I replaced every part except the GPU in July, and somehow it still returned. I know this games engine is old and it doesn't run as well as it used to, but this just doesn't seem right
Strangely enough there is sort of a fix for this issue, but it isn't perfect, maybe it will shed light on the issue, im not sure, but when I cap the games framerate to 100 FPS via the nvidia control panel, the lag is significantly reduced, not gone though, just very minimal. The strange thing about this is, when the game is uncapped, it's still running around 100 FPS anyway, so why in the world is this happening.
The ONLY thing I know of that will completely eliminate this mysterious input lag, is running the game in fullscreen at 1080p. I wouldn't have a problem with this, except my monitor is 1440p and it looks terrible.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3d
GPU: Nvidia RTX 4070
RAM: DDR5 6000 Mhz (I don't remember the brand I think its gskill or something)
