For those of you unfamiliar, Maidy -san(character name Maidy Maidy) is the original author to the story 'Dad of Light' .
The story was originally posted in his blog. Later, it was adapted as novel, drama series, and even a film. The TV Drama series can be viewed in Netflix(even in US).
Without a doubt, Maidy san is one of the most well known Japanese players in FF14. Personally, I view him as a great role model, both as a player, and as a person. His blog obviously shows that he truly loves Eorzea, and the FF XIV community as a whole. He alone made significant contributions to FFXIV. I've heard of numerous players that started playing FFXIV because of 'Dad of Light'
Earlier in the year, Maidy-san started mentioning medical complications. His blog was no longer being updated daily.
Today, in a livestream, Maidy-san announced that he's has roughly six months - a year left.
