So I'm considering getting FFXIV, after much contemplation. But before I did, I wanted to get some input from the players and have some questions answered.
People talk about the "drudge" when you start, that it's a slow burn and you will have to wait a bit before it really kicks off and gets interesting. Is that true?
From what I understand, there's "companies", which I'm assuming are pretty much like a guild system from other games? And if so, are there any newbie friendly ones or is there a level prerequisite you have to meet?
What was it about the game that really appealed to you and made you get it? And is it an okay pick for someone that's more casual and likes to meet people?
Is the overall community pretty friendly and social? Or is everyone going through things solo 90% of the time?
