I've been seeing a lot of threads that gripe about Viera and Hrothgar not being able to wear head crowns, and I think maybe there's a way around it. I understand that the devs design them mainly without considering Hrothgar and Viera for Event Items and such(Heavensturn coming around).
I've been trying to think of a way to get around this, and I've just recently come up with an idea: Why not work things off of Hrothgar? The variations for Viera would mean having to make ear holes for the bunny ears and the like, but this is looking at gear additions towards 6.0 since there's development time involved for everything to get done. Having varying head sizes would probably do something for modeling, but then you might have people complain about "This helmet's too big for Hyur/Rhoe/Au'ra/Elezen/Mi'qote/Lalafell and looks goofy!"
Ah, if it were only easy to snap the helmet to the head and make it look good for people. If anything, imagine CULLING the top of the Hrothgar's head hair(provided it's not labeled as anything else in the model editor with whatever software is being used) when a Helmet is equipped. Just the hair on the upper portion of the skeleton. That could be another solution to Hrothgar, but this is just me throwing ideas.
I wouldn't mind hearing other ideas from people on the forums, provided they can adhere to what XIV's Developers have said about model skeletons and the like in 5.0.
