First off, my apologies if this post was made in the wrong section since this forum layout confuses me all the time xD
Ok as you all know we have several wards and SE keeps adding on that but no matter how much wards they add, we are always short of Medium & Large houses.
I believe I know a possible fix that could solve this issue with the use of just 1 ward in each housing town.
As we know, when you enter an appartment complex you get to talk to an NPC who then shows you a list of the appartment you want to visit. Simply implement the same system for ward houses but allow you to save it for easier/faster use.
All houses could be merged to the same plots (1 ward for all!) if we treat them all as separate invisible instances that need to be triggered by choice as said above. SE could add an option by clicking on the sign in front of each plot (or add a secondary object to click on) that show every person & FC (in a separate list) that own a house on the selected plot (including a mention of how many of the people in your friendslist happen to be part of the owners of that plot). That way you can go through the list, choose what buildings you want to see and save it so it will autoload next time you enter the ward again. I know SE has already implemented an option (you see this when changing your exterior walls or roof) where they can softly make someone appear out of nowhere without it causing lagspikes. They can do the same for the entire plot every time you cycle between houses and put a delay on the load to avoid issues, so load the garden first and then the house).
If you would then teleport to a house of someone in your friendslist, it would automatically show your friends housing layout when you teleport to him/her but the system would reset to the house you had chosen before (next time you enter the ward) unless you again select that friends housing manually and save their layout. The same applies to FC houses, since they get priority every time you change them, they should be reset to your FC house the next time you enter the ward.
Upon the first time you enter the ward some questions should come up to help you set it up fast so you wouldn't have to change much later:
Option 1: Load random houses (FC house & own private house always get loaded as priority) if you don't really care about any other house besides your own or your FC's.
Option 2: Load an empty ward (for manual setup) for people that have CPU/GPU issues or to simply have an easier time knowing which houses have been set to your taste and which ones haven't.
Ofcourse people coming out of gardens & houses that you did not select would not be shown in the area and would be filtered out as if they were out of sight (treated as a distant object by the system). But you would also get an option to show friends at all times so you'd see them once they exit a plot. And like I said before, you'd be able to change the houses you want to see on the other plots in the region at all times.
I know what you are thinking, we don't need this... but when are we ever going to start thinking about all the other subbers who also deserve a chance to get a house without having to get "lucky" to get one that is worth it since small houses mean little for FC use.
And me personally? I'd love to be able to select houses that I know are active so the ward would feel like a town that I get to socialize in ^^
