For once the deadzone was perfect, it simulated how it behaved on the ps5 perfectly. With a cross-like deadzone in which we were able to move in straight lines consistently. Now suddenly it's being considered an issue and with 7.01 we have reverted to the near non existent deadzone.
Let me be clear, this isn't a stick sensitivity issue, I've tried from sensitivity 0-100 and they all have the same problem. That setting just affects how much you have to move the stick from it's resting position in order for it to register an input.
What we got with 7.0 was a cross deadzone where if you tilted the stick forward but perhaps there was a very very slight inclination to the right, you would still move straight forward
Now it's been reverted in 7.01 to what I assume to be a circular deadzone. Try zooming your camera in and out using the right stick, it will rotate left and right because the lack of a cross deadzone, it's registering the micro inputs of left and right when you're only meaning to go back and forth
All in all the 7.0 deadzone was superior to some of us and for once I didn't have to resort to steam input and could actually use the dual sense features. As I said previously, I started out on the ps5 and on there it behaves exactly how it did in 7.0 on PC. It was consistent.
