I just got called “incredibly cringe” because I was doing wall to wall pulls in a DT dungeon. Not to mention, this complaint was at the very end, so I was unaware there was even an issue until we were leaving the dungeon.
I’m not really complaining here, but I don’t get it: The healer was very well holding their own with keeping me as well as everyone else alive, and I did not have to use Hallowed Ground or Clemency at all. And yes, I was using my mitigation buffs as well so the healer had less problems keeping me alive.
I usually pull less when I realize that the healer is struggling to heal me or if they are new, but there were no problems and the run went pretty well so I’m just kinda lost.
Was there something I Should have done differently or is this sort of a “can’t keep them all happy” sort of thing? I’m genuinely looking for advice on this.
EDIT: So I just learned what’s going on. The person who said the remark in the dungeon said “Forcing “you pull, you tank” is incredibly cringe” before leaving. I’ve only been playing for about 7 months now and I do not involve myself with the FFXIV community very much, so I did not know what this phrase originally meant.
I would also like to say that the whole pulling thing was an accident due to me not being able to grab aggro on the second boss for about 5 seconds: I play on console so sometimes the selection on the screen screws up if I end up pressing something wrong. No one died though, and no one’s health dropped at all due to the boss either splitting aggro or healer barriers: either way, I do not think a 5 second accident should say that I was trying to force aggro on somebody.
I would not force anyone to tank just because they pulled before I did, I will just take aggro from you and do my job as a tank.
