Password Changes

If you use our forums on a regular basis, please change your password when you see this message.

In light of recent unauthorized accesses to our database, we ask that you change your password for your own security.

As a reminder:

  • Never share your POL ID or Password
  • Never send your POL ID or Password via email or Private Messages. You should avoid any electronic transmittal of that information at all costs.
  • We would suggest using a voice communication device such as a telephone, ventrilo (secure channel) or skype.
  • New password rules have been put in place on these forums, you will be forced to change your password after a certain time period.
  • Do not use the same password in vital locations such as email, paypal, online banking or other service that you would deem important.
  • If you suspect someone trying to access your account, report it immediately. POL accounts can be flagged to block changes or require full information from the original owner to make any changes.
  • We advise against any 3rd party tools or devices that could compromise your security.
Lastly, I would like to greatly thank the support our members have received in these last few days... Some of us were lucky in the fact that we avoided this mess completely, others were not so lucky.

Ultima will not die due to this incident, other persons and linkshells would be overjoyed to see us disappear, but that just is not going happen. This incident strengthens our bonds instead of breaking them...

Have you guys thought of taking legal measures against SE and the "hacker" yet? I know you've guys have heard a bunch of suggestions towards getting back your money and so forth. Have you guys called SE and requested the last 10 previous log in points from the accouint, the IP address log in points. You're within the legal rights to request that information from them, seeing as supposedly it was you logging in those last 10 times, and you wish to confirm this IP address. If SE decides to refute this question and not give you something that you're entitled to obtain, then call your credit card company and tell them about it being fraud and what not. I'm sure SE will be acting then.
 
As i stated in another thread Devourer. They wont divulge that information without the authorities involved if i remember correctly. If they do then great :) just hope the person didnt backdoor their way into the accounts through someone elses ip address making the trail harder to follow

Since the "who dun it" question has been solved. Couldn't they through the authorities) just get get the account info (billing info) which will take you right to his door. Either way i hope you guys go for BLOOD! He didn't just hack those acccounts he essentialy stole your identities.

We have his account info. All the billing info was changed.
 
927 days, wish my work passwords lasted that long. AA did you ever send it? If so I haven't recieved it, but I have some people waiting for it.
 
Just fyi... if you have the registration info.. address, name, etc.. and the POL ID (which can be acquired through a simple POL search) then you can change "your" password over the phone with SE, regardless of having the other info... enjoy. :devilange
