This probably matters more to me than like anyone else and thats fine. But, there has been a big influx of people in clear parties that very obviously don't know fights or progression parties marked as "veteran help appreciated" but they're really just blind prog and the party does not want tips. Or even people who may have cleared once, but clearly need more practice showing up in farm parties.
I'm a weirdo who joins clear parties just to help or when I want to practice jobs I'm not super familiar with, so I probably run into these things more often than others, but maybe there's a chunk of new players getting into endgame content that just join what the game allows.
Practice/ progression = learning, ranges anywhere from the beginning of a fight to any of the phases.
Clean-up = expectation that you basically know the indicated phase, but need a bit more practice to get it down well
Clear = you generally know the whole fight and are ready to clear.
Farm = you know the whole fight and are confident in your ability to execute all mechanics with minimal mistakes as well as output high DPS (regardless of role) to squeeze in as many clears as possible.
