Our Tax Dollars Hard at Work

Im not sure if you know this, but this is extremely old news.

Dolphins have been used by the military since the 1950s in guarding ships and searching for mines. In the cold war the dolphins were able to find mines and mark them with electronic tags that were formed to their bottlenose. It would only make sense to use dolphins since they are very intellegent, agile and can 'see' in places where a normal diver cannot.

Not only were dolphins used to locate mines, they were used to accompany dive soldiers, patrol sensitive offshore areas for infiltrators, and even help navigate ships through reefs with underwater cameras attatched to their backs.

That being said, maybe you could cook up some amazing ground breaking news on pigeons being used to deliver messages.

Also when you're out at sea for extended periods and need some fresh meat, Dolphins taste remarkably like chicken.

AND some can hack into Keanu Reeves' brain to save the world, but only if Ice T says it's ok and Henry Rollins dies.

i LMMFAO'd but then i wonder... should things like this make me happy or sad to be a Texan... :google:

You're gonna laugh, but these are part of Nuclear Weapons security, lol. I had to listen to a briefing involving these at the last OSR.

They were in use while I was stationed at the sub base in King's Bay, GA.

6 years... subs.... were u a nuke? i'm betting yes... ET, i'm betting too

You're close =)

Nuke Electrician (EM), shot the gap in "A" school, and cross-rated to Missile Tech (MT).

I did seven patrols, so that totals to around two years of my life underwater.

HAHA! i was EM too!

but i got kicked out my 14th week of power school, and went to the fleet. Ended up on amphibious ship (Peleliu LHA-5). i was late one day to class, got rate reduction, 100/mo x2 mo, and 30 days CCU, and dropped from program, all for being late 1 day ; ; AND my section cheif stabbed me in the back when we went up to see the old man.

Stayed EM all the way through though, and now thats what i do for a living.

I was in orlando. did you go there, or had they already closed it? i was one of the last companies thru the bootcamp there. and in fact while i was waiting for transfer to san diego, i worked with the crew that was closing it down.
