Just a heads up....

If your flash player is out of date and you have no browser security setup, or setup incorrectly.... AND you've been to the BG forums recently...

Start scanning your systems.

Reported hack apparently had a short duration, this is just precautionary since we all vist there a lot.

Note: they have changed the board appearence to get rid of the vulnerability.

UPDATE NOTES!

This seems to be an old exploited attack that infected most of the skins but not all (thus why you are reading this).
The server this leads to on the address does not seem to be active.

This basically seems to be an old attack pointing to an old server that is no longer functioning.

This is the flash exploit weve been warned about for the past weeks, you know the one that everybody said to upgrade your flash player about, that ffxi, wow, and every other MMO had to deal with.

If you have updated your flash player you have nothing to worry about. Firefox/NoScript/Flashblock and iframe blocks will also keep you protected.
If you are truly worried, consult the somepage thread on looking for the smart.dll file and follow the appropriate links. I will have several members scanning the forums to keep me appraised of the situation while the admin staff of BG goes over the server with a fine tooth comb to find out if we can guard against an attack like this in the future.

Once again, this is an automated attack using a vulnerability every forum host who uses the various forum programs has surely had to deal with. We will take every step possible to protect our users from the attacks, so keep yourself updated and safe with firefox/noscript/flashblock and common sense.

Ehhh

I've upgraded Flash, but sometimes it tells me to update it again.. I've updated like 4x in the past week, and yet occasionally it still does (maybe due to NoScript?) That being said I have noscript.. but turned it off ,_, Cuz it annoyed me, doh.
