On what constitutes blessed and cursed HUD, and differences between Controller and Keyboard players

It's always fascinating to see other people's HUD setups, and how radically diverse and divergent they are. I can't necessarily claim to understand many of them, as I use controller and so I process crossbar setups in terms of button "flow" (arching over or under, left or right, relationships across crossbars and to an extent jobs), so keyboard hotbars are more baffling than they'd otherwise be.

Anywho, is there a meta that players converge on with regards to HUD setups arising from common needs, copying prominent figures, or carrying over old habits from other MMOs? Or is it truly a wild west where everyone is pretty much doing their own thing with equally wild results given the absolute freedom that's enjoyed? What process and values do players employ when deciding on a hotbar/HUD setup? Where do "blessed" and "cursed" fall regarding these considerations?

Personally I like having as much functionality as humanly possible, while having as clear a view as is humanly possible. I was pretty spoiled by the HUD in SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3, especially compared to 2, and since then I've used it as a benchmark for maximum HUD clarity across games. I also started XIV on the PS5 with controller-only, and I'd never played an MMO prior, so why fix what wasn't broken? Why not expand upon it? Hence the winged setup, where I first developed the double crossbars and trigger access to the third crossbar (and felt silly for manually switching the crossbar mid combat, got good at it too lol), then arranged them in a winged pattern, then added hotbars on the sides with the advent of a keyboard.

Also Command Panel has been a true blessing, and absolutely revolutionized my setup by allowing me to have more actions immediately available, hence the weird transitionary mishmash of actions on the right side.
