I am not from America...
America Data Center's reputation is as loud as The United States is globally.
I always think there is a little charm to it.
Japan Data Center where I originally play from, is more serious.
Of course, it is good that people take into consideration that we should not waste time/pay attention/be careful. But... It is quiet, serious. For quick roulettes it is perfect! Especially when newest Alliance raids, such as Nier, even during ShB was a breeze.
In America you still spend 30+ minutes, people leave, other AFK, other crashes. TERRIBLE! That is what the reputation feels like and sadly most of this reputation comes from within America Data center and they consider themselves the "worst". When speaking of "PF" oftentimes, it is about the frustration, people memeing, not taking each others' time investment seriously, trapping - you name it!
Yet not many speak about positive things in the American Data Center. I came out of MSQ roulette just now... it became emotional.
Trust me, it's not because Dawntrail is anything emotionally triggering... but it is a reminder, why I love playing in American Data center, it is my absolute most favorite data center, and I feel like it deserves a thread.
See, the good things present in Japan Data Center may be lacking in the American side,
but the opposite is also true. While sure people allow me to watch cutscenes...
This time, not only did the usual kindness happen.... It was the Dungeon of Dawntrail (No spoilers but it is literally the name of the quest which, well, happens to be Dawntrail) This dungeon is quite overwhelming story wise. So much happening during ad-fights, as usually the last dungeons do. A lot dialogues and chaos easily missed the first time.. it is hard to understand/focus. But the people during a crucial moment of the events in the background stopped at a spot. If I had not known better I would have been taken back because of the story unfolding, but I was taken aback the fact that all three from different servers just stopped, and allowed me to watch what was happening around me without rushing ahead and pulling the next pack of mobs. Instead, they let me watch it. Even if it was a rerun, it was the first time I was able to understand what happened in the dungeon, what was going on in the story. And it is small gestures like this, that truly makes me feel so happy having a place in North America Data Center.
I feel always, NA players are seen and also regard themselves as loud, rude or too angry/toxic environment (depends on the content) - impatience too....When I experience negativity it is quite severe and shocking, but it is rare. That rareness doesn't affect the fact that my experience in North America is mostly positive.
I wondered if you had anything happen that made you smile. I feel like NA players do not get credited enough for the ongoing reputation. I wanted to share my love to my favourite Data Center, what is yours?
