Hi guys! I have a gaming laptop with NVIDIA GTX1060 and i7 6700HQ. I've been gaming XIV for about 3 years but this is the first year where my laptop is heating like crazy playing this game. I've changed my thermal paste, cleaned dust and I play other games on this, such as Overwatch (maximum settings) and I only had slight rises on temperature, but nothing crazy like playing XIV on the lowest settings possible (and I really mean the lowest of them all, even below the custom Standard Laptop) and still getting around 90ºc, 95ºc of GPU temp and around 90ºc of CPU temp.
The only setting that makes the temperature drop to around 70ºc, 75ºc is playing on 30fps cap, but it's just not enjoyable because sometimes I don't even get to 25fps, it's awful, so that option is out of question.
I know hot climate right now isn't helping but I've never had these temp records on my laptop in any summer. I was thinking about getting a cooling pad, is it gonna help? What else can I do to lower those temperatures please?
