My Mount Keeps Descending When Flying, Is This Intended?

So yeah, I unlocked flying now, but my mount keeps dropping in height, when I go in any direction. My boyfriend, who also unlocked it, said it doesn't drop for him so I'm even more confused now.

I'm playing on PS4, btw, if that matters anyhow.
