What if...
Instead of levels we unlocked new jobs that would start from level 1 and level up to 100 again but these jobs are tertiary? In that they require 2 or more job stones to unlock,
For example Sorcerer, it would require you to have mastered White Mage, as well as Black Mage, in doing so you can fuse the two stones to unlock Sorcerer You'll still have access to the two jobs but they wouldn't require a job stone anymore much like you don't need a job stop to go back to being a conjurer or marauder, this new job would give you access to the strongest skills of the job the combination leans to the most, in this case Black Mage's level 70 to 100 skills, and a few options from White Mage, perhaps the abilities from level 30 to 60, and while leveling the new job from 1 to whatever you unlock whatever new skills or ideas they have for that job that fit that theme.
Besides sorcerer I'm already thinking of dozens of combinations, they wouldn't even have to limit themselves to using any one job once, they could come back to Black Mage again and say if you combined it with Ninja you unlock Vampire, maybe you have to pick which jobs you want to fuse and you don't get to freely switch them around unless you pay some kind of hefty fee. At least until this becomes old news,
What if they don't even tell us what combinations exist, and for the first few weeks and each patch they introduce new ones maybe 1 or 2 and its up to us to figure out what they are and how to do any related quest to make them available.
