Monk will never work with current job design

There’s a reason why no matter what they do, Monk is always doomed to some cursed rotation that breaks the flow of the job.

Monk was supposed to be this free-flowing adaptable job that can leave and reenter combat and used its resources and stances to upkeep their damage and speed.

They took away the need to manage greased lightning and any fist stances, but they kept their rotation and toolkit exactly the same as when they had those to manage. What this does is create a rotation that has a degree of freedom but no point to it. It also creates a scenario where they don’t have a traditional 1-2-3 so their potencies are mixed into their rotation but because they have no buff to upkeep or flow to respect why wouldn’t you just skip to the highest damaging attack as much as possible?

In order for Monk to ever work again it need to be reworked from the ground up to fit its new playstyle.

Or just give me back Greased Lightning. That’s all this topic was about.
