/////////////////////////////////////////////HEAVY SPOILER WARNING/////////////////////////////////////////////////
Do the FFXIV writers have something against masuline male characters in general?
Was Ishikawa hurt by a man in he rlife or why does she have such a ntoable hatred towards masculine male characters?
Is the FFXIV tream getting consultorship from Sweet Baby Inc. as well?
Did Square Enix learn NOTHING from the overwhelming failure that was Forspoken?
- Stormblood:
The reason why that expansion was so badly received is because the story was set up to be Rauban's epic into becoming the ruler of Ala Mhigo. it was supposed to be his journey to regain confidence in himself after losing an arm and learn how to rule after following the example of Hien and his travels with the WoL.
What was done instead? Even though there were already THREE female rulers, we already had Alisae and Yugiri as strong female characters, BOTH of the TWO writers had to insert the completely unnecessary and abnoxious character of Lyse with the dumbest and most simple-minded personality and dialogue EVER and make her not only the travel companion of the WoL that Rauban should've been but also put her in charge of Ala Mhigo for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON other than the fact that she had a vagina.
If Dawntrail shows that Tural, with equally diverse number of peoples as Ala Mhigo can have a SINGLE ruler in Wuk Lamat who only shared the throne with Koana BY HER OWN CHOICE, why couldn't Rauban had been the ruler of Ala Mhigo instead of making that weird counsel arrangement where the BLOND bimbo Lyse is obviously leading? Because Rauban is a masculine male and apparently that's bad somehow.
Lyse should've been killed by Zenos when he attacked Rhalgar's Reach and THAT should've been the bad thing Zenos did for which he became your nemesis. Instead Zenos kills a NOBODY NPC making Zenos bad just because the story says so and not because he actually does something relevantly bad.
On Zenos, why did the writers give Zenos the dullest, most repetitive and one-dimensional dialogue and perosnality EVER? Because he is a white, masuline male antagonist and he was NEVER allowed to be liked or have anything interesting when he could have been one of the best antagonist in the franchise if the devs and writers didn't have such a notable hatred towards the character.
Zenos embodied the ACTUAL PLAYERS personality (specially raiders) who don't care for the story or the people or anything but the next boss to fight and the next challenge. Zenos was supposed to reflect the player's compulsion to clear the next piece of content without enjoying the ride or caring for anything else. Wasted potential.
Why did Stormblood have TWO IDENTICAL female villain arcs while Rauban was COMPLETLEY ABSENT throughout what was supposed to be HIS expansion in HIS country?
