What I don't like about savages/extremes is that the mechanics are quite different from the regular version. Feels a bit like a waste of time. Moreover, normal mode is usually quite easy, while savages can be very stressful to learn.
In WoW dungeons have a mythic mode, which has 15-20 levels of difficulty. The dungeon gets harder and harder with each level, and every 3-4 levels new mechanics are introduced. Depending on the time you take to complete a level, you are allowed to move to the next one.
I don't think ff should copy WoW, at all. But this seem like a nicer way of gradually introducing mechanics, and making savages/extremes more accessible.
Any thoughts?
It would also be an opportunity to introduce insanely hard instances, which only a handful of players would be able to pull off.
