EDIT: ADDED SYSTEM INFORMATION
Hi there! Reaching out to see if not only other Mac users but anyone else is having similar problems and if there is any way to fix them. Nothing the mods seem to be giving is very.. effective.
Ever since hitting the "In the Company of Heroes" MSQ, my game has not been able to run any cutscenes AFTER level 32. I get stuck on a forever loading screen (the wheel in the right corner still spins and music plays) and yet I still can't progress at all. I even waited an hour to see if maybe the scene just wasn't playing and I could still go on without reading it. Nothing happens.
I have tried what the mods on these forums have told Windows users to do (everything within my ability at least, including factory resetting my computer and reinstalling the game with it being the only application on my Mac.) The fan on my Mac works just fine and I made sure it wasn't dusty, as I cleaned it myself.. I lowered my resolution, my FPS, turned off Fullscreen Optimizations and played on a windowed mode. Even when I'm running it on potato standards, my game will not respond and when I close it I get DirectX 11 errors.
These errors are:
ffxiv_dx11.exe+4A6DB3
ffxiv_dx11.exe+4FA4ED
ffxiv_dx11.exe+55BC2
ffxiv_dx11.exe+1297D24
ffxiv_dx11.exe+55198
ffxiv_dx11.exe+585F5
ffxiv_dx11.exe+129048F
KERNEL32.dll+50B24
ffxiv_dx11.exe+1290534
KERNEL32.dll+21130
I really, really have wanted to play this game since I found out about it in late 2016, and it wasn't until only recently have I been able to financially be able to support myself while also playing. I have watched friends and streamers alike play with no problems since. However, I can't even get past my free trial (I still have 12 days left before I have to subscribe!) and it is making me feel very disheartened.
If any of you, INCLUDING MODS, have found a way to fix this that isn't the same copy-pasted error "fixes" that I have already tried, please please let me know! I would love to play this game. It has been so fun so far. I don't want to drop it if I don't have to.
The system information on my iMac (desktop) are:
iMac (Retina 4k, 21.5-inch, 2019)
Processor: 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i3
Memory: 8 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Graphics: Radeon Pro 555X 2 GB
