Still, the weekly challenge log and the tournaments provide a decent amount of MGP. That’s why I along with a small group of players still spend time doing it. However, the tournament point system just makes no sense. For those unfamiliar: tournaments run every few days. Each player can play up to 15 PvP or play versus cpu matches, and are ranked by whoever earns the highest tournament points (TP) across those games. The problem is that TP gains are tied to the relative rank points (RP) of you and your opponent. The higher your RP compared to your opponent, the fewer TP you receive for a win, vice versa. Since winning also increases your RP, this creates a strange situation where the longer you play LoV (and the higher your RP becomes), the more disadvantaged you are in tournaments. To give a personal example: in the last tournament, I went 15–0 in PvP. Despite that, my total TP was lower than some players who only won around 10 matches. Because I was often only earning 20~30 TP per win due to the RP difference. While a low-RP player could gain 90+ TP for winning against high-RP player. As the result, win trade to lower one's RP in normal match is basically a requirement to get into top rankings. This feels like a pretty obvious systemic flaw, and one that shouldn’t be particularly difficult to fix. Since new minions from 7.0 are usable and receiving unique stats, it’s not like square enix has completely abandoned it either. Also, in LoV tournament, each TP loss is directly translate into loss of MGP reward. It’s honestly discouraging to see your performance improve while your rewards decrease. submitted by /u/sda963109 [link] [comments] |
