Looking at these BLM changes, i think a hybrid might be a idea.

I looked over the changes, several topics of the BLM players and the change reasoning. I can see the BLM of the timer and the slow but powerful attacks with the satisfaction of maintaining the timer. I can also see the changes to battle content in the future that BLM could be impacted negatively. I can also see the changes perhaps get some new players to either try the job or have given up on the job to try again.

I see a possibility that there is a way to please the old play style but have the new changes.

Looking at the patch notes. The on-paper idea and this as an LVL 100 BLM, keep the current iteration of changes and reduce the new Enochian IV bonus from 27% to 12%. Re-introduce the Enochian time as a new part of a high level of play and management. While the timer is running and active the Enochian IV will provide an additional damage boost of 15% for a collective of 27%.

Now im not sure how long the timer would be to ensure that the openers and rotation will be needed to remain close to the same (perhaps +1 sec for a bit of leeway). If a BLM that is knowledgeable on the rotation and openers could provide a number that might work.

What we have here is a way to change the class for future content, ensure the spirit of the vets who work hard to master the class to keep the timer running and are rewarded with an additional damage boost, and open the door to newer or less experienced BLM to try the class, which can allow the opportunity to perhaps get better to keep the timer running but won't hurt too bad if the timer drops. Well at least not as bad as losing Enochian in the middle of a fire IV while learning (i totally didn't do that ever).

It is on paper and it perhaps might not please everyone or be perfect but it is an idea that could work if it is tried in practice.
