I had an interesting experience in a dungeon the other day. I needed an 81-89 dungeon for Wondrous Tales, so I donned my WHM role, insta-queued and landed in 85. The WAR tank was a sprout at exactly 85 - maybe a little under-geared - and was brand new to the instance. He was supported by myself (WHM), a DRG, and a RDM.
Right out of the gate, the DRG ran ahead while the tank was typing that he was new, so might be slow. DRG ignored him, aggro'd the first mobs, and dragged them back to the tank, who frankly struggled. The DRG had taken some damage while aggro'ing, so I threw Regen his way. No problem. Second mobs, DRG does the same thing, runs ahead, aggros both sets of mobs, drags them to the tank. Tank struggles, Asylum and Divine Benison go up, and WAR takes all my flowers to keep him up. DRG took plenty of damage from aggro'ing, so I throw out a Medica III in between Holy spams. Asylum drops, and Medica III HOT isn't enough because the DRG is recklessly taking AOE damage (I assume to get his positionals). Seeing both the DRG and WAR taking heavy damage, and being flowerless and without Asylum at this point, I throw out a Plenary Indulgence and a Cure III before getting back to Holy spamming. The combo takes care of both of them with 800 cure potency -- the same potency of a single-target Cure II. Mobs go down, everyone is up, and we're ready to move on.
As soon as these mobs are dealt with, the DRG actually "/sits." He announces that "only a noob healer uses Cure III" and refuses to proceed to the first boss unless I'm kicked. I ignore him, and as far as I can tell, the rest of the party also ignores him. We're standing right on the boss line, waiting to start the fight while he has a tantrum because, apparently, I - the healer - healed him. When I don't respond to him, he says, "Oh, you're one of those people." I continue to ignore him, until about 5 seconds later, when I'm informed that a vote has passed to kick me.
I instantly re-queued into 91 as WHM, had absolutely 0 issues, got 3 commendations, scrolled up and blacklisted the DRG, and moved on with the weeklies.
I guess the reason I'm posting is I'm still a little baffled at the situation. Anyone who has ever done duty roulettes surely has come across actually new players. They make the game fun and add a bit of challenge and diversity to dungeons! To see someone actually /sit, throw a tantrum, and initiate and succeed on a vote to kick because -- even if they didn't want to be healed, and assuming they missed the instantly-cast Plenary Indulgence -- someone used a 600 potency heal instead of an 800 potency heal, is ridiculous. Maybe I hope there's a chance they read this post, too.
