I took my time to progress the MSQ throught the summer, playing with my friends and taking breaks to enjoy family time afk. I just reached the end last night. And I have to say : I enjoyed every second of it. I even shed tears on three separate occasions !
Such a refreshing expansion. After years of heavily emotional story, filled with despair and sadness, we get to spend time just enjoying life and the sun.
With our character in the back, letting new characters shine. And shine they did. I end up loving all the new characters from Tural.
The OST was a banger, as always. The dungeons were very enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised by each last boss and their mechanics that kept me on my toes.
There was so many voiced cutscenes, with dynamics staging. I would have been even happier if there was more hugs and physical contacts, but I understand why it's not happening.
The graphical update made my jaw drop in each regions and in every cutscenes.
As a FF9 fan, I enjoyed all the little easter eggs.
If there is one thing i'm a little bit upset about, that would be how they spoiled the entire Solution Nine and Alexandria business. That would have been such a shock to discover on the spot.
I wanted to give my opinion because throughout the summer I've seen a lot of negative feedback and disapointed reviews. And it makes me a bit sad. It was expected, but still. Feels like history just repeat itself.
Usually, upset players are more vocal than happy ones. So i'm making sure my opinion on DT is out there :
