Just Finished Arr Story. Should I Grind Poetic Tomestones For Ironworks Gear?

I played through the ARR story as bard but I'm thinking of playing samurai going forward. Is it worthwhile to grind level 50 dungeons for poetic tomestones to buy Ironworks gear, or should I just ignore it and get through the 2.x MSQ as fast as possible? Will early Heavensward content assume I have Ironworks-tier gear?
