sup everyone,
Im looking to buy a ps3 and the japanese version interest me. That is if they are backwards compatible with japanese ps2 games. You guys know what model of japanes ps3 has backwards compatibility if any?

Oh and the baby food there i still have that doubt.

Thanks.

I'm not any kind of babyologist, but is there some reason your child couldn't just eat whatever they feed their babies? I don't think she'll turn into sailor moon or anything.

The PS3 is a pretty good question tho. I'm sure you know they're region free regarding PS3 games. There were a couple versions with emotion engines built in and I imagine the JP ones would be for playing JP PS2 games, but I can try asking aqua in game.

I have a Japanese PS3 and it works well for the most part... it won't however, load my FFXI Collection 2008 disc for PS/2, gives region error. All of the other games I own are Japanese. (a few have english option, others do not)

You are also locked into the Japanese PSN (all PSN stuff is in Japanese), you can't change the language of that and some other online features. The console itself can be set to English (for menus and such) but some stuff is locked in where you can't change it.

Unless I'm doing something wrong, this has been my personal experience. Oh, and I have the 60GB version.

As far as PS3 games go, PS3 isn't region locked, save for PSN. You can play any country's games on any PS3- you're just stuck playing online with those people. You can import MGS4 from JP into USA, for instance, but can only play with Japanese players. I believe PS2 games are still region locked, however.

oh and how much is the ps3 over there?

Too much. Gamestop lists 40GB at $399.99 and 80GB at $449.99...

With anouncement of FF13 for 360 as well as recent price drop, I'm pretty much sold on getting a 360.

EDIT: when you said "over there" you did mean in the US correct? Sounded like you're in Japan atm.

I haven't been able to find aqua in game but all the evidence points to "only JP PS2 games, if it's a JP PS3". Sorry :(

When i was reading around awhile ago i was under the impression only JP Machines get backwards compatibility with "some" games.

Hey Wind, sorry for the late reply, have been busy and was in the states recently for my brothers birthday. As for the baby food, the international market not far from me does have a baby food section, your standard jar baby food items, don't think it was gerber baby though.

No problem. In other news, while I was recently home I gave one of my brothers who still plays my account, as I haven't logged on in months, and really have no time or much desire to play anymore. Will still check in here to see how everyone is from time to time. So thanks for the good times, and good luck all.

So if we see Puss runnin around acting like an idiot, we can assume you gave it to kirk?

Actually the other brother who plays, the older brother, but he never talks really. Moonshard is his main character, he is actually the one who got me playing.

All I really want to know is why the stories stopped. I thought you died from AIDS or something, so now that I know you're alive, I DEMAND AN UPDATE.
