I feel like the item recovery policy needs to be amended. Currently, you can't have an item restored if it was lost more than a week ago. I think that if it can be easily proven that you had it, you should be able to recover it.
I recently tried to have an item recovered for the first time. I can't find my Excalibur Zeta, but I want to be able to purchase replicas of it from Drake at Hyrstmill. I still have the Aegis Shield Zeta, though, so I can prove that I had it at one time. I was told that the item can't be recovered because it's been missing for more than one week.
I understand the policy. I wouldn't want my employees having to look further back than a week to see if a player had an item. However, completion of the quest to get the sword is easy enough to find, and having the shield that goes with the sword in my inventory is clear proof that I had the sword.
To further this, I can purchase stronger swords from a vendor or craft them for free, so recovering the sword doesn't give me an advantage over any other player, and it doesn't make content any easier to go through. I also can't trade or sell it, so I can't benefit from it in any way other than using it for glamours.
