Is There A Lore Reason Why Blm Draw Leylines, And Not The Arcanist (smn/sch) Jobs?

It's in the lore description of Arcanists that they're obsessed with geometric lines and symbols to shape the aether for their magic. So why are the Black Mages the ones drawing complex geometric symbols on the ground?
