Is The Community Really That Great?

Am I the only one that DOESN'T appreciate this community? I always see praises sung about how helpful people are, etc, however that hasn't been my experience on primal at all as a largely solo player that uses PF to clear things. Most people seem to be downright vicious, and most roll with a clique, so if you dare say anything back to them, you're out of the group immediately.

After about 50-60 groups, I finally got my e5s clear, but I haven't finished Ruby EX yet. Start pugging it with some random people, know phase 1 perfectly by this point, join a new group that wants to bait lasers. Sure, seems fine, I get to baiting lasers, the NIN next to me dies to the helioclaw eruption lines (I watched it unfold) and starts screaming in chat that "this dumb grey got me killed". I explain that the lasers don't go off until after the eruptions and he has a solid second or two to move, and also stated that there were 4 of us in that section, and asked how come he was the only one that died if I baited the lasers into the group.

This triggers him to go on a tirade about how dumb "greys" don't know anything and they should keep their mouths shut, etc and he tells everyone to drop out so his friend can kick me. So I'm promptly removed from the group. I wasn't even grey in that fight, I was the highest dps because I was the only one who could do the mechanics, so if I was grey, I don't know what he would be. Also my e5s parse was purple and I don't have any ruby parses up yet, so...

This has just been one out of 7 or 8 or so bad experiences I've had with PF on Primal in the last few days. Is it specifically primal that is like this, or am I just very unlucky? Its pretty discouraging since all of my friends quit in SB and never came back, and I haven't found a static since.
