So yesterday I needed to get Yak's milk to try and make collectibles for my culinarian, and I encountered the most obvious bot I have ever seen. The character was making sharp turns and most importantly, the character almost seemed to teleport to his targets once he got in range to where it wouldn't be obvious unless you were watching him. He would only start to attack the mob once he was directly in the center of it's targeting circle, and while this at first wouldn't be damning, it is when the process sometimes failed, leaving him to suddenly remount and leave the mob alive while moving on to the next.
After I reported him to SE, I became infatuated with trying to disrupt the botting and prove to myself hands down that no one was at the computer. So I tried request to meld, which didn't work, and then I opened a trade on the player right before they could choose to mount. For some reason, this stopped the bot program and I proceeded to sit there for over 20 minutes in silence before suddenly breaking away from trade and getting a torrent of tells despite me trying to contact them earlier.
When I told them that I had already reported them, they said they were going to report me for harassment as I was "stopping them from playing." This of course got me a little worried because despite being against ToS, I've never heard of SE cracking down on botting, and if you consider that they are willing to turn a blind eye to absentee play, then it's technically true that I was stopping the bot from doing what it was programmed to do. Should I be worried and should I not try to mess with bots in the future?
EDIT: Well, 5 min after logging in, this happened. Shame on me for trying to stop a botter.
Yeah, this really happened just now

EDIT: I decided to also post a screenshot of the bot (censoring the name because of privacy reasons) Keep in mind, I wasn't spamming trade, I opened a single trade window and it remained open for over 20 minutes without either of us doing anything.
Censored for obvious reasons
