'Materia can now be extracted from fully spiritbound gear without losing the original item. Furthermore, materia can be melded to gear regardless of crafter class.'
Is it just me or wasn't a large part of the crafting market crafting gear people would need to buy to replace gear lost from claiming their Materia, this will also affect te Gathering market as well due to obvious reasons.
Even though it may take some time to happen, I fear that eventually the Market will jsut be full of food, potions, tonics and etc HQ one use items. While there will likely still be a demand for items here and there, there will be huge battles to sell crafted items that people will no longer need. I am currently working on getting all my DOH and DOL jobs to 80 and there's already signs of there being an overabundance of certain items that don't seem to be selling .
For example, while lvling a smith job, I've been making 1 of each item for the crafting log, in one case a piece of amour has multiple listings with vastly dropping prices. Usually someone would buy the item, spiritbond it, scrap it for materia, sell the materia and buy a replacement (Generally speaking). But now you just need to buy it strip it keep using it and then buy the next level up when you get to it. So eventually nobody will ever buy that armour again as everyone levels to and beyond the armour and etc.
So then the owners of that item will have to delist it 'cause it wont sell and then at best desynth it or sell it to a vendor for a loss (in terms of time and effort put into gathering and crafting/buying matts).
FFXIV is definitely going the wrong way, the more ismple it ecomes, the easier it is for everyone to do everyhting and get whatever they want without effort and etc....the less appelaing it is. At some point the economy will be pretty dire.
I am getting pretty concerned with how FFXIV is becomming a game more for casual play. Everything is becoming overly simplified and I fear the loss of any kind of challenge, where thigns are just handed to you with minimum effort. Just sink several mindless hours into something and you recieve a reward, as opposed to, use your mind/skill to triumph over this challenge and then recive your reward. Luckily it's not -that- bad yet, but each update seems to have little things that make me worry.
Just my opinion of course.
