Is Ffxiv Difficult For Someone Whos Never Played A Mmo Before?

My friend plays and I'd like to play with them. I think the game is really beautiful and I think the characters can be so pretty. Only problem is, I feel like it's going to be challenging for me. I play FPS and MOBA games, so it's a big difference. I've never played a game like it. What do you guys think? ^_^
