Hello, I've been playing ffxiv since this April. It has been my first mmo ever, so I was really bad at first, but now I think I have improved at least to the point where I can clear raids like the Nier one without being a burden.
However, yesterday I was running my roulette as DPS, and at a certain point the tank suggested the dancer to change their dance partner to the tank themselves instead of me, which they did. Nothing particularly changed since that changed, it's not like we beat the boss faster or anything, and I felt kind of shame because that wasn't even endgame content, but a simple dungeon from msq – so that meant I must have been really horrible.
The tank’s rude choice of words put me off to the point that I stopped levelling to focus on crafting. But I want to think they were in good faith. Since they didn't give me any constructive criticism, though, I really don't know what, and if, I was doing something wrong. Plus, being a ps4 player, I really don't know how to measure my dps. I always read guides on jobs and the most recent guide shows that at least my rotation I'm doing it correctly. Moreover, not aiming a content like Savage or Ultimate, I thought parsing wasn't really that necessary. However, while I do want to have fun, I also want others to have fun too, so I don't want to be a burden. That's why I'm willing to take it a step further and improving even more. I should maybe add that my gear is ilvl 475, and I got my resistance weapon.
So if anyone is or has been in my situation, even though it seems a silly question, do you know how I can improve my performance?
