I'm tired of the way Dark knight is treated and it made me stop playing the game

Okay, so this might just be a personal problem and not a problem everyone has, but I'm very passionate about this game and I love it. I was the guy that, when everyone saw me, they already knew the game I was playing: Final Fantasy XIV back in 5.0. I was a walking ad for this game; I loved it so much and I wanted everyone to know about it, to the point where everyone probably found me very annoying.

But recently, I have just felt apathetic or lethargic, I guess, about the game. It's not because of the story, the side quests, the encounters, or the art style—none of that. It's all because of the devs feeling like they either don't care about or don't like Dark Knight.

Now, I haven't played this game as long as a lot of people here. I only started in 5.0, and the job I gravitated towards was Dark Knight. It was completely my aesthetic, and I liked the gameplay then. It felt fast when you did your burst, and I had a lot of fun as a Dark Knight main. But it feels like, after 6.0, the job just hasn't been it for me gameplay-wise. The burst changed because AD and Carve and Spit share a cooldown now, and I hated it. The tank spam changed from something you needed a little awareness of—late weaving to get all 5 of your Bloodspillers out and getting your optimal burst window—to a 3 stack buff.

But I ask myself, if Dark Knight had these changes and Warrior, why not PLD? It still does 4 Holy Spirits and now has 4 super badass blades. And for PLD, why did they keep Expiacion and Circle of Scorn separate cooldowns? One could argue that it doesn't have a healing effect, but neither does Warrior’s. And then there's the problem with Dark Knight as a tank. Warrior has so much healing, PLD and GNB also—not as much, but still a lot of self-sustain. But Dark Knight has one ability on a 60-second cooldown that you would only use in packs, another one on a 7-minute cooldown that does get you back up to full HP, but Warrior's is on, what, a 30-second cooldown? And the 3rd weapon skill combo has a heal built into it, but not nearly enough to be worth relying on.

Granted, it has really good mitigation in TBN, but that's really all it has, and Oblation is not enough compared to the other tanks. And why the hell are two of its mitigations only for magic damage? Why is that a thing? There is no reason for a tank to have mitigation locked behind a specific damage type. PLD’s shield used to only block physical damage, but they changed that. Why not fix Dark Knight? Because they don't care? They don't think it needs it? Well, that's dumb. Do the devs have some sort of hate for my job? If that’s true, then it’s really demoralizing and makes it really hard for me to want to play this game anymore, and that deeply saddens me. Please bring my excitement back for my favorite job and this game.

side note: The reason I quit the game over one job is because I feel so attached to the dark knight. Dark knight is exactly my aesthetic, and it feels like I rarely find anything that suits my taste so perfectly dark, intimidating, villainous looking but not actually evil or what a lot of people say "edgy", but that feels like an oversimplification. So since i feel so attached to it if i can't play and have fun with dark knight it's hard for me to have fun with the game at least without having a little resentment for the current state of Dark Knight.
