it is to use the chat!
I'm fairly certain that majority of veterans in XIV are chill with beginners. But really, sometimes it's difficult to be patient when we offer advice in chat and there was no respond at all. I know for a fact that sometimes, they're so noob, they dun even know chat is a thing; I was one of them.
Use the chat! Keep a look out at them from time to time. Try out any advice given! "Turn on ur aggro Tank!" "Use AoE attack on a pack of enemies DPS!" For me at least, a sprout learning something from us at the end of a dungeon run is much more satisfying that a speed run or any number of commendations.
