Two days ago I resubbed to FFXIV and bought the Shadowbringers license for my PS4 as my computer's been going down hill as of late. Basically I had tried to log into my account, but I was told it was temporarily suspended due to suspicious activity, but I could lift the restriction by resetting my password. And so I did just that, however it kept coming up telling me the same thing. So after a day of trying to figure it out on my own I emailed customer support. It took about two days to get a reply back, which the man gave me instructions to follow which didn't seem to help any. Well this morning I finally figured out what the problem was and finally was able to log on and play for a bit. Having figured it out, and knowing that the Customer Support team is short-staffed at the moment due to the virus, I figured I would give him one last reply to let him know that I believe I solved the issue. The reply was as follows:
"Dear [Redacted],
Hi, it's me again. I decided to do some more investigating into the matter on my own and I came across some information which you may or may not find surprising. My findings in regards to this issue are as follows:
I'm a big dumb idiot.
I was typing in the correct info, however I was not only looking in my backup email address for the account(this one) for answers and solutions, but I was also typing my password in both the correct password box, as well as the one-time password under the assumption that it wasn't saying "One-Time Password" but "Re-Enter Password". After rectifying this embarrassing mistake, I was able to finally log on to my account as well as register the PS4 Shadowbringers license I purchased the day I re-subscribed. I haven't been back on since this morning(as of the time of writing this), but I'd imagine I shouldn't run into any more issues.
I figured I'd reply one more time and give you an update just so when/if you get around to investigating the issue you don't end up wasting your time looking into it, trying to resolve it, and trying to contact me about it. I probably don't need to send this update, but figured it was the polite thing to do. I'll reply a third time if I end up being locked out again and it ends up NOT being caused by my stupid self. Beyond that however, I wish you a good day/evening whenever it is you get around to reading this.
