I know this is taboo to a lot of people, but FF14 can be really lonely. Especially for a new player.
Novice Network is invite only. If a mentor doesn't invite you, you don't get in. Some people (like me) are too uncomfortable to go up and ask.
There is no in-game way to contact a Free Company. You either have to respond to spam, ask someone (again, not easy for the timid), or go without until noticed.
Without a world chat, it is difficult for a new person to get help. Especially outside of cities.
Yes, world chat can be a problem with the "wild west" of chat. But world chat can always be optional. Turn if off if it displeases.
But it should be an option.
It feels as if FF goes out of its way to isolate people.
Of course, I speak only for myself and your experience is different. But look at my join date. June 2018. And look at my level. 55. That isn't an alt or another job. That is the highest I have progressed in all that time because FF14 is (to me) too lonely. So I quit. And I come back for a bit and quit again.
