I Was An Officer In The Lucky 7's, Here's Why I Left.

A few days ago, I posted a really REALLY long Twitlonger about a few things that caused me to leave the Lucky 7's FC on Hyperion. A bit of context, I was a member for around 9 months total (3 months membership, 6 Months officer.) and at the time I had been hearing things about The Sevens that weren't exactly...savory, but still chose to join cause it was fun for me.

I want to also point out, this is not to attack, defame, or even call anyone out, but I felt it important to talk about what I was made to, not asked to, do as an officer. No names will be given, and attached is a link to an Imgur post where I block out the name of the person (Not myself) but leave the icon. There will be a few things talked about in this topic that were discussed in voice with no recording. If you want to see the original wall of text, you can do so Here

This is going to be a bit poorly formatted, so bare with me here. So, when I joined as an officer, it was Late November, early December, I left around beginning of May, so timeframe was 5-6 months. The first week I was made an officer, I was asked to help solve a problem involving a member wanting something of his own not attached to our FC. The leader of our FC decided that since he couldn't be in control of regulating that, he would ultimately decide that I'm going to lie to my officers. (The Reason I know he lied was due to the me being firsthand helping solve the issue.) During this conversation, I was told that this gentleman wanted to "Use us for free promotion, and to take business away from us" This, wasn't true. The guy never asked to advertise, but instead wanted to use our FC house as a stage for his troupe. In fact, was even willing to give a portion to the FC for this.

So, needless to say, after some debate, an ultimatum was forced onto himself and a few other members, either shut down the idea, or get banned. This ended up having us officers vote, which, while I opposed it, I couldn't exactly say no. Those members got banned, and if you're familiar with Syndicate Primal...that's basically how they got their start. (Though, when it started, the discord was from my understanding, more akin to a hate pit. It's since changed into something amazing) This event actually caused another officer to step down, leave, and eventually return to the FC as a normal member at a later time. Sadly, I cannot make up for all of my past mistakes, so I accept the hate I get from most people on that front willingly. This incident was something also took its toll on me, as every morning I would wake up and have been brought into new Discord chats every day. My phone constantly going off at work, which at the time was also killing me. A little tangent, neither here nor there.

The second incident hits a little closer to me personally. I'm one of the two original creators of the RP Venue, The Inkwell, it was started with me and another member, who shall not be named, as was to be free and clear of anything 7's related. INCLUDING overseeing from the Boss Man himself. I, being an officer at the time, was more or less watched closer, but I never broke any rules...however, I ended up not wanting to advertise in our (Very Large) Discord server, due to us operating out of a small at the time. So, a friend fake bullied me into advertising ONCE in their discord, which caught his attention and so he messaged me. This led to me having the power to advertise in our THROWN at me without my want or desire. I had asked in the past to for permission to look for a couple servers...but never asked to advertise proper.

About a month after opening, we ended up snagging a medium in the Goblet, and allowed the venue to be used for an Open RP event, as we felt it a good idea at the time. Most of the staff sat in voice to make it easier and who came to join us...Boss Man himself. We had decided to hire the newly formed Syndicate Troupe, and they did a wonderful job. I made a comment about not liking the style of a completely different person's performance, and he latched onto that for later use.

We ended up paying the staff, and the troupe for their time, and I had thought all was good. Well, my Co-Owner's birthday rolled around, and as a birthday gift, the troupe offered to play for free. (It was a good gift as she was well liked by their whole crew) and I need to make that clear, THEY OFFERED TO PLAY, FOR FREE. At the end of the night, we had paid our staff members, and she personally tipped the troupe. When our FC lead found out we had "hired" them to play for the evening, he pulled me into voice and decided to grill me for Three Hours (I had also had to miss an officer meeting) about how I, as an officer, should not have allowed that, when I'm part of the reason they were banned in the first place. As I tried to explain the situation, he was kept telling me how she "Paid them to play" and "You don't even like their performances."

At the end of it all, He and the Co-Owner had a very heated argument, instead of being allowed to defend myself, the choice was made for me to have to leave ownership of a Venue...that I started. Knowing some of his past actions, I decided to just to accept it and move on. I broke away from my Venue, said goodbye to my staff, and continued on as an officer.

I know what you're going to say, and YES, I should have told him to shove it up his a**, but I'd already been worn down enough, so I accepted it. This, along with the first story, ended up causing me to be kind of...disliked around a few places. Fairly deserved, and I'm working to fix that.

Though, the straw that broke the Dhalmel's back was this last thing. We at one point had another female Co-Lead, she was kind of notorious for a few things, but for the most part...harmless I guess? Well, from my first visit to an Event, I actually became friends with her, but on a purely "Keep it professional" level. This allowed us to just chat, and never take things further...well...I'll just say some things happened with a specific male member of our community, and our dear FC lead decided he wanted to solve the problem himself. This male member was abusive to her, (threats to family, exposing their DMs, etc...) and so, Boss Man himself stepped in and made it stop. All seemed...well...until he found out that she had gone back to talking to him. (Not this subbreddit to talk about that, so I won't go into it.)

This led to a few things: 1. The Lead FORCING her to give him her discord information so they he could read ALL of her private DMs (Yes, even I was included in them.) Leading to him freaking out on her. 2. Her leaving our FC in a MAJOR huff, burning nearly all bridges she had created, though while I was made, I still made efforts to keep in touch. (More on that LATER) 3. The Lead claiming she had hurt, and I quote, "Hundreds of people." Keep in mind, the only people she really hurt, were about three of us officers who were super close, and the Boss Man himself. People lie on the internet all the time, it's not something we're new to. Image She was also diagnosed with something...and I'll let this image speak for itself.

Well, this ended up causing a major set of just...general issues all around, but I suppose when you catfish someone, they tend to get angry. A couple months later we see something in officer chat, a DM between our glorious FC lead and a member of our FC. Some people will wanted to RP with our old Co-Lead, and Boss Man wasn't havin' it. The DM is sadly lost to time for me, but went something like this.

(BM=Boss Man, OL=Old Lead) BM: "Are you interacting with OL?" Member: "Yes...that shouldn't be a problem." BM: "No, she hurt a lot of people and I will not allow her to come back to our community, stop contact with her immediately, or be removed from out company." Member: "Fine."

When I saw this, I basically wanted to flip my lid. The FC has a ban list for members of the community who are not allowed to come to events, and will be asked to leave. Though...if they refuse, we have a tactic that I, thankfully, never had to see being used. "Well, if they don't leave nicely, one hundred reports about that member harassing us will usually garner some attention pretty quick." Yes, this is a real thing, and like I said, THANKFULLY, I never had to actually see it be used. The threat of that happening alone should tell you what kind of a person Boss Man is deep down.

Anyway...after seeing this, I reached out to our Old Lead, and while I'm not super quick to trust after I've been hurt by someone, I just wanted to hear the other half of the story, as everyone has a right. I hopped in a voice call with her, and we ended up talking. She was bad...and I mean BAD. I'm not going into detail, as that is MAJORLY private information. (This was two months ago, she was basically a recluse, I've since started dragging her places and she's enjoying herself again..happy end back to story.)

So, I ended up thinking over it for a couple days, and I left on a Tuesday. Generally, 7's events are Friday-Monday, so me leaving on a tuesday with the schedule for officers already set...shouldn't have been a big deal...NOPE, I got compared to one of our..less than appropriate officers. Image I won't go into more detail, but I just wanted out. He thought it would be a good idea for me to have a celebration (Though, I did just end up celebrating my birthday with them) to which I responded, "No."

Overall, I ended up staying in the discord for a little while longer, then chose to leave. No doubt since the incident I've been demonized by at one of the officers, himself, and the new co-lead, to which I say, "Meh". I would like to note that conversations between myself and the BM, are not recorded sadly...but he DOES have a bit of a reputation, and while I'd love to say, "Attack him" don't. I'm not here to spread hate, or demonize the company as a whole, in fact, I still love the membership I helped officer for all that time. I watched us from a less than 600 member discord, up until nearly 1800. The members of the FC don't deserve the hate, and frankly some don't even know about what goes on behind the scenes.

So, I'm going to say this ONE MORE TIME, don't attack the members of the FC, the officers, the Discord, or even the BM himself. The best things to do is either boycott their events, or just let them be who they are. If you're friends with members and enjoy the events, good on you, keep going. RPers can, and most of the time, ARE toxic to one another.

This isn't something to call out, I just felt like telling people about what it was like as an officer in the FC for me personally. Again, as opposed to people on twitter or here on Reddit who bash them for their own reasons, I spent time working and seeing what I did, and even after everything, I don't want people to attack to defame them. I just want to get this stuff off my chest and move on.
