Announcement Showcase Highlights:

- Expansion is called Endwalker

- New classes are a healer and a melee dps

- Healer class is Sage, a barrier healer, with a FFXIV unique weapon called Nouliths

- SE wants two pure healers and two barrier healers, AST is gonna be reworked to be more a pure healer, with SCH and Sage being barrier healers

- Sage is able to temporarily augment their own magic abilities

- Alphinaud takes on the Sage class in 6.0

- Unlocked in Limsa Lominsa

- Melee dps class will be revealed in the May fan festival, speculated to be Necromancer

- Endwalker will be the final story in the Zodiark/Hydaelyn saga

- The story is planned to be started and completed in 6.0, but this is not the final expansion

- Battle system adjustments

- Downscaling values: This does not mean that players are getting weaker, just that numbers used will be getting smaller

- Calculations were causing overflows, resulting in bugs

- Calculations for enmity reaching their limits, could stack overflow from max enmity to 0 enmity

- Flying text becoming lengthy

- Enemy HP is becoming monstrously high

- Highest HP pool for bosses in 5.5 is 440,000,000 HP

- Difference in values from levels 51 to 80 will be reduced

- Trying to create a smoother, linear transition in stats throughout levels

- Experience points will also be reduced, as well as experience needed to level

- Will still the same, just with smaller numbers

- Enemy HP and damage dealt will be reduced

- Undersized parties might be more difficult

- Damage reduction example: 530 BLM using Fire 4 with no crit/direct hit deals about 50k damage, this will become about 10k damage. Ratio of damage to enemy health will stay the same

- Removing belts from game

- Belts will no longer be equippable in 6.0

- Equipped belts will be unequipped and given to calamity salvagers for safekeeping

- Includes retainers, all will be done automatically for players

- Materia should be removed ahead of time, before patch 6.0

- Belts will no longer be available for drops in duties or item exchanges

- 35 slots allocated to belts in armoury chest will be reallocated, 15 slots will be given to primary weapons for a total of 50 slots, another 15 to rings for a total of 50 slots, the rest will be held in reserve

- New system: Data center travel

- There will be restrictions, maybe more than world visits, but will allow players to temporarily travel to other data centers

- FFXIV for PS5 open beta begins Tuesday, April 13, 2021

- 5.5 update releases same day

- PS5 version will have 4k and 2k modes available

- PS4 players can upgrade to the PS5 version at no extra cost, monthly subscription will still be required

- More information about the open beta will be revealed at a later date

- FFXIV digital fan festival will take place on May 15 and 16

- Details on how to tune in will be announced at a later date

- The stream/concert will be available for free in its entirety

- Those that do pay will receive a unique mount, the lunar whale, an 8 seater mount and three minions: Edge, Rosa, and Rydia
