I May Have Made A Mistake

So while i'm waiting until SE customer phone support opens in a few hours, I thought i would ask the community if anyone has shared a similar experience and could give me a definitive answer.

I've recently purchased FF XIV base game through steam. I created a new service account and tied the registration key to it. I knew that i had another service account from the past that i had set up on the PS4 back in 2014. But i jumped right into the new account without hesitation. 20 hours later I realize (after the fact) that i am able to play my older characters with loads more progression from the PS4 on the PC using my original service account.

My question is... Am i going to need to purchase a 2nd copy of FF XIV to add the Windows platform to my preferred original service account to play on the PC since i activated my new purchase with the most recent service account?

If that is in fact the case, i will go ahead and save myself some time and bite the bullet.

But If i were to give them all the necessary info to prove both service accounts are mine and the purchase is genuine, would/could they manage to connect my new copy of the game to my original service account without another purchase despite the fact I have already connected it to the new service account?

I appreciate any useful info on the subject.
