I started this game back in 2.3 or so, dropped it for a while after reaching lvl 60 in HW, and picked it up again in late Stormblood. I always looked up to players who had all their classes to max level and to those crazy enough to do Savage raiding, thinking I would never be able to attain that.
In HW when I quit, I was a really bad player. But after coming back, with the assistance of my FCs on multiple characters, this subreddit, a static, and thousands of anonymous party members, I have finally attained the unattainable. I have level 80 in all my DoW/DoM classes (level 70+ in all crafters / gatherers), and not only have I cleared all Savage this tier, as of last night, I also have blue-parsed all of them, too, as Scholar.
I can finally say I have risen from the ranks of a garbage newb to "ok." I'm not the best, and I likely never will be. But I'm happy with where I've gotten.
At the start of this tier, my goal was to get 4k DPS as SCH in e1s. I nearly doubled that in raid DPS (over 7k) in e2s. Any of you who think you don't have what it takes, let me assure you that with some time, practice, and hard work, you can also get to where I have and beyond.
You're a wonderful community and I love you all.
Except the guy who rescued me into a pit. You are evil.
