I love this game!
After playing WOW 18 years ago I swore off MMOS, but my cousin vouched for FFXIV and I got a new computer so... Let's try this free trial and see what's up?
Last night I unlocked the Copperbell Mines. It was getting close to midnight and people keep withdrawing from the duty finder so I figured I'd roll the dice with this roulette function and try to get a perk. Luckily, I got the Mines!
The other dps and I are both archers, with a gladiator and a conjurer.
We get to the boss that is a green slime that gets blown up into multiple bosses. I target the bombs, but I can't take them down in time on my own and the other dps is on the boss. Eventually the bosses kill the tank and they start going after me. The healer starts trying to support me but I.am.in.my.element!
I'm using my movement perks and attacking their speed like I actually know what I'm doing. I haven't figured out how to type and fight but the healer sees I got things "controlled". I take no damage while the healer res'd the tank back and we were able to take them down, eventually beating the dungeon with flying colors!
I realize such a low level dungeons would make recovery possible and won't guarentee a wipe when things get chaotic, but it really made me appreciate the training simulation I took!
I got some nice loot and can't wait to do that again. I'm definitely going to upgrade to paid when I level up!
