I have above 12k hours in ESO, and have been my main game since release.
I am wondering how is Final Fantasy XIV compared to ESO?
So a few things about my mmo experience in eso:
I mostly enjoy dungeons and not raids. This is because of how hard it is to actually get 12 people in a raid. I have to show up on a specific time, and every single time in every single group, there is someone afk. Internet issues, forgot their food buffs, need poitions etc. And Im standing there waiting 30 mins to get the raid start.
Dungeons is a bit more chill, but still has some issues. I like playing offline because of my anxiety and I don't like to bother other people. But veteran dungeons in ESO is a bit unbalanced. If you play from the group tool, you get a lot of shit like fake tanks and no healer etc and ofc people who are completely inexperienced. Or you can get friends to play with, but then the veteran dungeons are too easy and it's just nuke every boss. So long story short, I enjoy "pug groups" in 4 man dungeons, but too much trolling and zero chat communications in eso. It's not a thing in eso to pug a group and actually try your best. It's social acceptable to "play as you want" because that's what the game told we could during the relase, and players are still using that as an argument. Yes, play as you want, but I still find it disrespectful to pug hard content and troll. There is normal dungeons for that, not veteran (basically one easy mode and one hard mode for dungeons).
It's also not acceptable to post your dps. If you have too much dps and post it, you 100% get raged on. Being called elitist and "no one cares" etc. Personally, I posted my dps to show the group. It's a group effort. Tank good at stacking, healer give the right buffs at the right time, group good = I have good dps. But people don't seem to like this, as they think it's purely selfish bragging to post dps. I started to thank the healer for the buffs I got, and complimented tank for good mob position, and that helped some.
Another problem I have, is since I like to play pug dungeons, I have one problem. Healers and tanks get groups within a minuite, while dps need to wait sometimes hours to get a group. Is this the same in ffxiv? how does dungeons work and how you get a group for it? Is healers, tank and dps role balanced compared to the amount of players who play the role? I mostly ask because I don't know what playstyle to have in ffxiv. I also would like to play on the controller if possible, so what class is best on that? Thank you so much for answer!
