With the Ascian arc slowly coming to a close and Zenos is supposedly going after Zodiark in the mean time, answers to some longstanding questions are coming through fairly thick and fast.
Yet we have learned loads about Zodiark and the Ascians, but not so much about Hydaelyn. Venat became her heart and is constantly chatting away, yet we haven't heard from her for quite a while, especially since Minfillia handed her power to Ryne. Ryne, according to recent dialogue despite having the echo, could not hear Hydaelyn.
Now looking back, we also have several outstanding questions about Middy that are connected- when did he arrive on the source? What is his covenant with Hydaelyn?
What is he protecting in Silvertear lake, or was before his body kicked the bucket and the seal on new primals was broken
Middy knows about Simulacrum, and more than likely does know about primals. He also knows of the Ascians and their methods and tried to temper the player somewhat.
There's also the question of him having the potential to seal away the player's echo, but Hydaelyn requested him to let us keep it even though he did strip away "the blessing of light"
Silvertear is known to be a reservoir of aether even if some of it is corrupted given bahamut and the crystal tower, hence all the crystals about.
I'm wondering- is Hydaelyn underneath mor dhona's lake then?
