How To Improve Bozja's Rewards

Yes, yes. I know. Another Bozja thread to join the pile.

However, I wanted to take a different approach and specifically focus on ways to improve both the current iteration of the Resistance Weapon grind and better incentivize the step prior. Therefore, we first need to highlight what the biggest issues plaguing the relic grind are. Naturally, this is all subjective and we’ll be entirely what I think are problems with the content.
  • Lackluster rewards in both Bozja itself and its two “endgame” attractions: Castrum Lacus Litore and Delubrum Reginae
  • Inconsistent progression methods; specifically those which do not encourage participation in Bozja itself
  • Imbalance in overall grind length.
  • Story requirement necessitating participation is infinite endgame raids.

Arguably the most glaring hurdle at the moment is Castrum Lacus Liture having minimum to no incentive whatsoever for repeated runs following its completion. This, in my opinion, is a relatively simple fix. Adjust the rewards to those below:
  • Bozja Clusters x25
  • Bozja Coins increased from x40 to x75-100
  • Mettle x7,500, with bonus amounts awarded for deathless runs, saving all six prisoners and etc.

* Memories of the Dying x 1 (x3 for prior step)

*Dependent on which quests are active

This should both funnel players progressing towards the i510 step back into Castrum while helping catch up those who have fallen behind in the previous step. The one exception are Bitter Memories, which we can set at 1 per Castrum. The Coin adjustment is significant as it hopefully addresses the grind imbalance in obtaining the Bozja armor. Lastly, Mettle is something that should always have been offered. Frankly, the base amount could be higher but I thought baking it into bonuses would make for a better incentive.

Similar adjustments will be made for Delubrum Reginae except in greater quantity, and a specific focus on the current tokens required to avoid making either it or Castrum too lop-sided in rewards (i.e. the MSQ Roulette problem.) One major adjustment for Delubrum will be to have a higher chance of Bozjan Runner’s Secrets drop, though drop rate shall remain low.

Additionally, Critical Engagements will see an increased drop rate for current Memories to better compete with outside methods.

Speaking of outside methods, I want to address that too for those looking to avoid Bozja. Personally, I believe there should be an opt out method that allows players to complete a separate chain of quests that while retaining a loose connection to Bozja for story simplicity sake, does not require any participation in the instanced content. Conversely, allow players to queue into both Castrum Lacus Litore and Delubrum Reginae without any restrictions in terms of Mettle.

Alas, we are long past the likelihood of that becoming a reality. Therefore, let us tackle what we do have. Namely a very linear grind with little variation. And once again, the fix is simple. Add variety.

Memories of the Dying will drop from the following:

All Shadowbringers Dungeons
All Shadowbringers Trials
All Shadowbringers Raids

Additionally, once per day, Level 80 and Level 50/60/70 Roulette will offer one of each. Why those two roulettes specifically? Because they actually need better incentive, especially 50/60/70. Frankly, I would opt to remove Crystal Tower entirely as it’s probably the last piece of content that needs further encouragement.

There are likely further adjustments that could be made, however these were some I thought of just this morning. Likewise, the volume of drops and such are estimations and may need tweaks here and there to be the incentive they ought to be.
