SHB main difference between past expansions was it's focus on character development of the WoL. Before the WoL was but a simple avatar for the player and with SHB he still is the developers found a way to make him into a fully formed character and in doing so made us care more about the world. The Scions by asking us to rest in between areas because they were all worried about our well being due to Urianger so called prophecy of Doom and out layer absorption of light made them no longer coworkers but close friends. You are later told that the Scions had long discussions of your well being and debated on if even we should be doing what we are doing. While we obviously going to do everything in our power yo persevere no longer did the Scions see you as this God among men but as someone that care for. Even more closed of the Scions like Y'shtola, Thancred and Urianger cared deeply for your well being and all of em would have loved nothing more to have taken your place as the sacrificial lamb if allowed. But we were the only ones who could do what needed to be done.
