Hey there everyone! So as we all know, tomorrow is the release date of patch 5.35 that will bring three new housing wards to each residential zone. New wards means that new houses won't be a subject to random timer so its your chance to grab yourself a dream plot! You will be competing with a lot of people though so here are some tips to increase your chances!
- First of all, if you are relocating your current house, double check that you can actually relocate it. As in if you have green check marks in storeroom status and if you have enough gil on your character. You wouldnt believe how many drama posts this simple thing brought when people forgot to clear storage of their houses which led to inability to relocate and loss of their dream plot because of it. Below is the screenshot of how a 'ready-for-relo' house should look in settings:

If you are relocating FC house, give rights and money to a few members of your FC to increase your chances as more people will hunt for a plot!
If you are buying your first house, you don't have to worry about it. Just be fast enough
- Set your settings to low in every option, this will reduce lag and loading times. Make sure you do it because faster loading times means you win precious seconds from others and every second matter, believe me.
- Just before maintenance, leave your character nearby ward switch NPC in residential zone that you want your house in. It was a known problem though that when Shirogane was added people who left their avis in it before got teleported to their home towns. So Id still recommend logging out not in residential zone but for example, in Lower La Noscea just right to the Mist entrance if you are aiming for house in Mist. - Switch to Ninja or DNC so you can use Shikuchi or similar DNC action. This literally secured me my large when last batch of new wards got dropped, I was racing against one player who aimed at my house and them shikuchis saved me. So don't think that it will be useless, it can earn you the plot
- Memorize the quickest aetheryte route to your dream house, put stickers on your screen where to click, every second counts. You need to rehearse your run a few times to memorize it, remember the name of closest aetheryte, remember in which direction to run straight after you teleported. Memorize order of buttons you need to click at the placard. It all saves your precious seconds.
