Each year since its premiere, the Haunted Manor dungeon has popped up in conjunction with the All Saints' Wake event. I've noticed a few people feeling overwhelmed and lost by the event dungeon so here's a quick guide.
Warning, spoilers for the dungeon obviously ahead, close this out if you want a blind run.
General rundown:
Upon entering the Haunted Manor you will be greeted by an imp who will give you three of a possible seven tasks to complete. The group will need to split up and check each room in the manor to complete the specific task. The group shares a sanity bar which will go down if your are spotted by one of the two monsters in the dungeon or by certain task attempts being incorrect. The first two tasks I will list are the only two that can eat away at the sanity bar, so if nothing else please check the info for those tasks. Also take note of the obfuscated charms you may find randomly placed throughout the manor, which when clicked will render your entire party invisible for a short period of time.
Monsters
Circus Ahriman: This flying eye enemy has a slim frontal cone vision, just don't get directly in front of it and you should be fine. Do note they occasionally halt that patrol for a moment before continuing so you may need to wait.
Circus Wisp: This floating flame enemy uses 360 degree sound. If you need to get close to this enemy, switching to walk mode should let you slip past them.
Tasks
Jack-in-the-Box <<<
For this task you will need to open the two correct blue pumpkins. There will be a blue pumpkin in every single room and opening an incorrect pumpkin will result in a large chunk of the sanity bar being removed. This task is what fails most groups because people just open every pumpkin they come across. There will be cryptic notes in random rooms, two for each correct pumpkin. One clue will give the floor and the other will give the last room number. If you find a note, read it and be sure to tell party chat as the info is not shared automatically. Tip: if one of the clues says the room ends in either 7 or 8, the ground floor is the only floor with those rooms.
Coffer Cracker
For this task you will need to find a five digit combination as well as the coffer (pink pumpkin) to use it on. Search the rooms for cryptic notes, read them and then share the information with your group in party chat. Once you have the full combination, someone must target the coffer and type /s combinatoin (ex: /s 38475). If the incorrect combination is used, a portion of your sanity bar will be lost.
Skin Changer
This task requires you to use the smokebomb quest items (automatically added to your quest inventory) on the blue pumpkins you'll find in each room in an attempt to find a hiding imp. If the pumpkin glows pink after using the quest item on it, move on to the next room. If it glows blue, open the pumpkin and you're done with this task.
Arcane Circles
Everyone will need to check the rooms for large glowing circles. There will be four total and each person will need to be standing on one to complete the task.
Light the Lanterns
Check each room for smoldering coals and unlit jack-o-lanterns. The smoldering coals are shared loot, so if for example someone in the basement picks up a coal, someone on the second floor could immediately use it to light a lantern. Lanterns and coal can sometimes be in the same room, so be sure to double check the room before moving on!
Cookie Hunt
The easiest task, just check the rooms for bronze (1 cookie), silver (3 cookies) and gold (5 cookies) baskets to collect a total of 15.
Pumpkin Hunt
Check the rooms for 6 randomly placed blue pumpkins. If you see one, open it!
That's it! Once you've completed 3 tasks, you'll get to open a big sparkly pumpkin to collect your event currency, hand out a commendation if you so desire and head out! Happy All Saints' Wake!
