Hate Cable modems

Ok, need some help with my cable modem... Been doing this the past few days. I get DC'd, ok nothing new there... but after the DC the cable modem acts weird... It's like the modem keeps starting back up. It's like when you put the power in.. all the lights light up in order but when it gets to activity it just scrolls through the startup lights again. I know this isn't the best explanation but maybe someone will know what I'm talking about? I dunno... It's a intermitent problem... I dc at night can't play anymore and somehow fixes itself by the next day. This morning it wasn't working so I'm hoping it does when I get home. Just don't want to miss my last 2 days due to comcrapt.

Talfus.. I just recently had some issues with my cable modem that I dealt with for about 4-5 weeks. Turns out that the signal level to my cable line was too high. This caused the RF front end on my Cable Modem to get overloaded causing the modem to reset or Disconnect until the signal level fell to an acceptable level.

The signal can be low as well but in my case it was too high. I'm not sure what your problem may be exactly, but I had to have comcast come out and test my cable line from the pole into the house. They repaired a faulty connection at the pole and changed one of the insulators. Since they did that, I havent gotten disconnected at all.

hehe Thanks for the response Aang, I called comcast and they wont be out till next wednesday. >< So if I'm lucky I'll be ok for tonight and tommorrow; in case I'm not then I guess I'll see yas.

It could also be problems with the modem "hardware" itself, which has been my case a couple of times.
